COMPASSION FATIGUE THERAPIST
Completion of this seminar, along with Professional Caregiving: Risks & Rewards of
Working with Traumatized People (Compassion Fatigue Educator workshop)
fulfills the criteria for Certified Compassion
Fatigue Therapist through the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology.
At
the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Articulate knowledge of developmental history of
compassion fatigue, including counter-transference, caregiver stress,
burnout, vicarious traumatization and secondary traumatic stress
-
Utilize an array of assessment instruments as well as
structured interview
-
Initiate and manage course of evidence-based
treatment with caregivers suffering from compassion fatigue symptoms
-
Demonstrate evidence
that treatment is effective in mitigating symptoms of burnout and compassion
fatigue
-
Demonstrate competence in using and teaching arousal
reduction, grounding and containment skills
-
Demonstrate competence in helping clients to identify
and utilize resources and plan for resiliency and prevention of compassion
fatigue, and the ability to facilitate this plan with others
-
Display knowledge of requirements to create and
maintain a self-care plan for self and others
-
Utilize knowledge about training and supervising
others in psycho-education on causes, symptoms, prevention and treatment of
compassion fatigue
-
Exhibit knowledge of effective strategies for
incorporating the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology
Standards of Practice & Ethics of Self Care
into treatment and consultation practices
